Tarchia
Tarchia was a large ankylosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, approximately 80–70 million years ago. It was discovered in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia, an area known for preserving a wide variety of Late Cretaceous dinosaurs.

Tarchia had the typical body design of an ankylosaur: a low, wide body supported by four strong legs, a heavily armored back, and a powerful tail club. Its body was covered with osteoderms, bony plates embedded in the skin that provided protection from predators.

Its skull was broad and heavily built, with a strong beak and small teeth adapted for eating vegetation. Tarchia likely fed on low-growing plants, ferns, and shrubs. Its most distinctive feature was its large tail club, which could be swung with force to defend against predators such as Tarbosaurus.

Tarchia reached an estimated length of around 6–8 meters (20–26 feet) and was among the largest ankylosaurs from Asia. Its name means "brainy one", referring to its relatively large braincase compared with other ankylosaurs.
