Zhuchengtyrannus

Zhuchengtyrannus was a large tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, approximately 73–70 million years ago. It was discovered in the Wangshi Group of Shandong Province, China, near the city of Zhucheng, one of Asia's richest dinosaur fossil sites.

Zhuchengtyrannus was a member of the same family as Tyrannosaurus rex, sharing many features including a massive skull, powerful jaws, large serrated teeth, and extremely reduced arms. Its skull was built for delivering strong bites, allowing it to prey on large herbivorous dinosaurs.

Although only partial remains are known, scientists estimate that Zhuchengtyrannus reached approximately 10 meters (33 feet) in length, making it one of the largest known tyrannosaurs in Asia. It was likely an apex predator in its ecosystem, hunting large dinosaurs such as hadrosaurs and ceratopsians.

Its discovery showed that giant tyrannosaurids were widespread across Asia and North America during the Late Cretaceous, with different species evolving in separate regions.
